'Dr. N. V. S. Raju is a BE graduate in mechanical engineering from Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, and has a PG diploma in industrial relations and personnel management from the same university.He has got two postgraduate degrees, one from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH), in M.Tech. (PE&M), and the second from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (Dr. BRAOU), Hyderabad, in MBA (marketing). He is an active life member of professional bodies such as ISTE and ORSI. Dr. Raju has been awarded Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Osmania University under the guidance of Dr. K. Narayana Rao, professor and former head of Mechanical Engineering Department (OU), former member secretary, AICTE, New Delhi, in the year 2005 for research in the area of reliability-centered maintenance of heavy earth moving machinery. He has served in the industry for about 10 years in various capacities up to the position of deputy manager in Allwyn Limited, Hyderabad, and acquired a rich practical experience in the areas of production, planning, maintenance, etc.Dr. Raju is presently serving the student community as associate professor of mechanical engineering, JNTUH College of Engineering, Nachupally-Kodagattu, Kodimial mandal, Karimanagar district, Andhra Pradesh. He is the former head of the department and now coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Earlier he worked as assistant professor at VNRVJIET, Hyderabad associate professor at JNTU, Kakinada professor at Vijay Rural Engineering College, Nizamabad, Nizam Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, Bharat Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad and as principal at Srinivasa Engineering College, Banswada. In a span of 24 years he has taught in the areas of industrial engineering, operations research, operations management, and other mechanical engineering subjects, to both BE/B.Tech. and MBA/MCA/M.Tech. students of various universities all over India, including the open universities, such as IGNOU and Dr. BRAOU, etc. He has authored several books in the areas of operations research, production management, industrial engineering, condition monitoring, and maintenance engineering. He has more than 50 national and international publications to his credit and has been an enthusiastic guide for many research projects in doctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate programs. A project guided by him bagged a silver medal in national competitions in the year 1999, conducted at New Delhi by Institute of Engineers (India) and ISTE.In addition to several other awards, recently (in 2011) he received the prestigious awards Shiksha Rattan Puraskar Bharat Jyoti from IIFS, New Delhi Glory of India Gold Medal from IISA Vishishta Seva Puraskar by JNTUH and Best Citizen of India Award from India Publishing House, New Delhi.Dr. Raju is the youngest among the three daughters and three sons of Sri N. V. Murali Manohar Raju and late Smt. Ammayi. He was born on 11th May 1965 in a small village, Kodimial, Karimnagar district, Andhra Pradesh. His elder brother Dr. N. V. S. N. Raju is a neonatologist, settled in the U.S.A. while another brother Mr. N. V. Srinivasa Raju is working with Nippon Paints. Dr. Raju is married to Smt. Prasanna and is blessed with three daughters, Srija Nataraj, Himaja Padmapriya, and Sanja Karunamayi.
