Power Electronics is at present a core subject of study in many branches of engineering such as Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Applied Electronics, Instrumentation and Control and many other branches in almost all Indian Universities. This book is prepared to cater to the needs of students of undergraduate programmes of these universities. The pre-requisites of this book is basic knowledge in Electric Circuits, Network Analysis, Electronics Devices and Circuits and certain topics such as linear differential equations, Fourier series and Laplace transforms in mathematics. This book is intended for a one-semester course.

  • Presentation of the subject in a simple and lucid manner.
  • Systematic approach in explaining the working principle of converters.
  • Clear steps in the mathematical analysis.
  • Students and teachers will be able to understand how the waveforms are to be drawn from the different steps in the analysis.
  • Nearly 150 solved problems to reinforce the theory.
  • About 200 short-answer-type questions and answers for self-assessment and which will instill confidence in the learner.
  • About 120 practice problems with answers to improve the problem-solving skill.
